spring backyard barbecue

What a lovely evening to get together with dear friends a couple of weeks ago.  Spring was in full bloom and we beat the mosquitos!  The first chance we New Englanders can get to be outside, the better!   I consider going over to our friends house for dinner, traveling and much better than going to a restaurant.  We get to choose our food, organic and free-range, non-gmo.  It's always fun to get together, bring your own dish and try something new your friends made, especially on a gorgeous spring night by the fire.  We all love to garden and cook.  I brought a quinoa dish with fresh wild leeks I sustainably foraged from the woods and Mr. T made an avocado dip with shrimp, barbecue chicken, baked french fries and fresh asparagus from their garden along with a gorgeous salad.  While Mr. T was barbecuing the chicken, Leni took me on a tour of her gardens and we talked about what we were looking forward to growing to put on our tables for dinner this year.  We are so blessed to have dear friends to share the plentiful bounty from our gardens.

What are you growing in your garden this year?  Anything new?  I was gifted strawberries from our stay in High Falls, NY in April and they are blooming!  I am hoping they produce yummy treats the first of June.
